Descriptions:
My farm is 1278 acres of flat, stone free land, no wasted acres. In 2011 there is approx. 10 acres not seeded due to moisture.
Section 36 is short 2 acres of 640 acres but these acres are gained back by road allowance on three sides.
We grow durum wheat, hard & soft wheat, lentils, peas, flax, canola, barley, and cannery seed in this area.
The average for the past 2 yrs on my land in 2010 is: durum 41, lentils 38, 2009 durum 35, peas 25, and lentils 35 bushels per acre.
My yard consists of approx. 8 to 9 acres surrounded by mature tree windbreak. I have Colorado blue spruce, elm, maple, caragana, & lilac plus and orchard with Saskatoon berries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, high bush cranberries, choke cherries, & apple trees.
I dug a new well in 2008 and have an ample supply of good drinking water.
I also have a big dugout I use to irrigate the orchard & garden, you can also use well water.
My buildings consist of a 2000/2 sq. ft. house with 13 rooms; 5 bedrooms & 3 baths, gas fireplace. House has just been redone & is energy efficient. A barn 24?w 28? L insulated and heated use as a shop & garage with cold storage room 15?x14? attached, 1 storage shed 12?x 14? on cement, 1 storage shed 12? x 20? on wood floor, older shed & granaries? 77? x 24? on cement could be used for machinery storage or for animal.
